The ShipEngine integration will allow users to generate shipping labels from their preferred shipping carrier/service. However, before one can begin using ShipEngine, one must set it up, which is quite easy. Once it is setup, using ShipEngine is also easy.

ShipEngine has a list of supported shipping carriers at https://www.shipengine.com/integrations/carriers/ .

Setup

To setup ShipEngine, follow the below steps.

Go to https://www.shipengine.com/signup/ and setup a ShipEngine account. Once the account has been setup, you can choose which deliver services you would like to use by choosing them on ShipEngine. Once you have created and configured your ShipEngine account, then go back to your store's admin panel.

Go to the ShipEngine settings page.

Enable ShipEngine - Step 1
ShipEngine Settings

Enter in your API key from ShipEngine (copy+paste is recommended).

That is it; setup is done.

Using ShipEngine

Go to a specific order that has been packaged, but not yet been shipped. You will see a new entry under "Shipping Info".

Clicking "Generate Shipping Label" will take you to a page where you specify the size and weight of the parcel as well as select the desired shipping carrier/service. If the selected service cannot take your parcel due to size and/or weight restrictions, you will be given a warning explaining the issue.

Specify the size and weight of the parcel as well as the shipping carrier/service.

After submitting the form, the "Shipping Info" area of the order's page will now look different.

The "Shipping Info" area after generating a shipping label

The links "PDF Document" and "PDF Image" provide to filetypes for the same shipping label. Clicking "Generate Shipping Label" again will take you to the same form, but successful submittal of that form will prevent you from accessing the previous tracking number and labels. If you need multiple shipping labels for a single order, then generate multiple shipping labels, but remember to download the shipping label files and save the tracking numbers under "Staff Comments" before creating another shipping label.

The shipping labels are created by ShipEngine. Thus, the appearance and format of the shipping labels cannot be changed by ChrisLands.

You will also notice a new button on the page for that order.

"Email Tracking #" Button

Upon clicking the "Email Tracking #" button, users will be redirected to a page where they can customize the email that the customer will receive. The email will automatically contain the name of the shipping carrier/service and the tracking number (as display on the "Email Tracking Number" form).
