In the store panel, there is an area titled "Security". This is where one can control security settings and ban/block particular emails and IP addresses. Clicking the security settings will first take a user to the banned emails page.
NOTE: All email addresses throughout the system are treated case-insensitively.
Banned Emails
On this page, store-owners can ban emails in three different ways.
- Full Email (i.e. [email protected]): Type an exact email address that will be banned. No user can log-in, register, place an order, send messages on the contact-us page, nor use the Off-Line Search Service (a.k.a. "Wants") with any account using this email address.
- Email Domain (i.e. *@email.xyz): For instance, to block all email addresses that end in "@email.xyz", type "*@email.xyz" or "@email.xyz" in the input field. This will block all and any emails that end with that text.
- Top-Level Domain (i.e. *.xyz): This is like the previous except that it works in the Top-level Domain (TLD), which is the remaining text after the last dot. For example, the TLD for most store websites and email addresses is ".com", so do not ban ".com" or any other common TLD.
Below is a list of TLDs that cannot be banned due to the possibility of store owners locking themselves out as well as most of their customers.
- .com
- .edu
- .net
- .org
