To configure digital gift cards that can be sold on your store, go to "Promotions > Gift Cards > Configure Gift Cards".
Sale of Gift Cards
This is where a store-owner can enable/disable the gift-card functionality.
Gift Card Settings
The first option specifies who can use a gift-card code. You can choose that only the recipient of the gift-card (this will require the recipient to use an account with an email that matches the recipient email address on the gift-card). The second option allows any body that types in a valid gift-card code to use the gift-card (this is perfect for groups that may share a gift-card or if a family-member/friend cannot remember the email address of the recipient).
The next set of options control the minimum and maximum values allowed for purchasing a gift-card. A used gift-card may have a value less than the minimum, but a gift-card at purchase-time must not be less than the value specified.
The last option (Default Expiration Time) allows the store-owner to specify the default expiration time of a gift-card. Leave this blank if no default is desired.
Gift Card Display
The next section allows an image to be displayed for a gift-card. A store-owner may have no image, select a provided image, or upload their own. The image (if one is selected) will display on the page used to purchase gift-cards, the emailed order receipt, and the gift-card activation confirmation email sent to the recipient.
Product Page
This next section allows one to customize the page that is used to purchase gift-cards. Below is what the page would look like with the settings from the above image. Notice the gift-card image that is shown on the below page screenshot.
Shopping Cart Page
These settings control the area (pictured below) that provides a means for customers to purchase gift-cards on the cart page. The settings displayed in these screenshots will produce the below results.
